What I LOVE About Working Residential Real Estate
Residential Real Estate - The first thing you think when you hear someone say they work in real estate, but don’t forget, Commercial. For as long as I can remember, Dating back to my days at RE/Max - Residential and Commercial agents had a sort-of (my industry is better) vibe. I remember one time - working at RE/Max, my broker getting a contract in for a residential property from a primarily commercial agent, and it was written with a commercial form - “God - I can’t stand these commercial contracts” my broker would say.
I was recently asked by a Commercial agent, who is massively successful in her career I might add, why I didn’t come work commercial - “It’s SO much better”. And I had the perfect answer for her.
Commercial isn’t something I’m passionate about.
What I am passionate about is Design, and making people fall in LOVE with a space and all it’s charm.
When I’m walking a property, studying it’s unique features and amenities -It’s so much more to me than Square footage, number of rooms, pool or no pool. It’s figuring out how I can paint the picture of an everyday life for a potential buyer, sharing the home’s history, the reason for why a design element adds to a space and what that can mean for them. For most people, home is a place to wind down, a comfort zone, tranquility. It’s a place to raise a family, host friends, birthday parties, have cousins, nieces and nephews, running around the home. All of these things evoke emotion for a potential home buyer, and for me, I love to paint that picture with residential.
